A slow start to 2016.

A f3w trips to shibdon a trip to fish quays and window watching is the only birdwatching ive done this year due to weather and other commitments.

From the house ive seen green/gold/bull/chaffinch, blue/great/willow tit, tree/house sparrow, blackbird,redwing, robin, dunnock, wren, starling, herring/black headed/common gull.

Shibdon had shelduck,redshank,snipe,teal,canada geese,cormorant,mallard,grey heron,moorhen,coot, lesser redpoll,lbb gull.

And north shields fish quay had turnstone,gbb gull,oystercatcher,eider.

Lots more birds to discover over the coming weeks so its all good.

Quick recap for future reference

1 male stonechat seen near longfield farm end of December.

Not many mistle thrush field ar around patch.

1lesser redpoll gave excellent views at shibdon awesome birds.

Watergate has been quite good with kingfisher water rail goldeneye pochard around november time,and also a little gull was seen beginning of the year.

Short eared owl were present at burdon moor.

Small numbers of golden plover seen around patch.

At the moment there has ben severe rain for past few days causing flooding around england.

Squirrels found my feeders grrrrrr.

Good numbers of tree sparrow and greenfinch around feeders also a willow tit present.
