Thought id have a walk around oxhill down the consett and sunderland railway path nz 1852, mainly because I was told that there used to be stonechat in the gorse a few years back but he didnt know if they had survived the past few winters.
I didnt see any, lol. But it does look like a good area for them.
On the other hand I did see a small flock of house sparrow x10+, lots of robin, pheasants x5, blackbird, chaffinch, goldfinch, bullfinch x5, blue tit, herring gull, dunnock, wood pigeon, magpie, feral pigeon.
A quick visit to burdon produced a flock of about 50 redwing, along the path to hedley hall along with a flock of yellow hammer (15). About 4 pheasants, 20+blackbirds, crow, wren, robin, around 60 golden plover flew over, 5 moorhen, 15 mallards, 4 teal, magpie, black headed gull, coal tit x3, chaffinch x4, great tit, song thrush x1.,2 fieldfare.
